Journey Behind The Falls: Experience Niagara From The Other Side2021-04-06T17:32:14-04:00 Live with Adventure
Journey behind the falls – experience Niagara from the other side
Is there anyone alive who’s witnessed the majestic beauty of Niagara Falls without wishing (even just a tiny bit) to be able to go beyond, and see behind that immense curtain of water? We think not. So why not dare and take a step behind it, then?
To look up and see the thunderous cascade of water, coming at you at 65 kilometers per hour is a once in a lifetime experience, one that you can truly feel during the Journey Behind the Falls experience.
What does the Journey Behind the Falls look like?
In order to step behind the Niagara Falls, you first need to descend heavily into the bowels of the Earth. Well, almost. More exactly, you need to travel down 125 feet, and enter the fascinating, odl bedrock at the very heart of the cascade.
The Journey Behind the Falls begins with this long descent, not long enough to bore, just enough to get your stomach rumbling with anticipation. During this downward journey, you begin to get a sense of what it means to be behind the falls, as the thundering waterfall is felt through the walls long before you actually get to see it. It’s the beauty of this anticipation that builds up excitement, so that by the time you’ve finished your descent, you’re already breathless. And the fun is only just beginning.
Once down, you’ll begin exploring the bedrock tunnels with your fellow travelers, and with it, stepping deeper into what feels like the very heart of the earth. Journeying deeper under the infamous Horseshoe Falls. The twists and turns of vibrating bedrock end up leading you right behind Horseshoe Falls, to an observation deck that allows you to experience the falling water first hand, but from a totally safe point.
The tunnels under the waterfall open up into inviting portals that offer an enviable view of the cascade. And while the Lower Observation Deck is set up at a safe distance from the actual waterfall, it’s a good idea to pack a trusty poncho or raincoat. That way, you’ll be able to enjoy the power of the fall up close and personal, without having to worry about catching pneumonia! And as an added bonus, you’ll be able to take your signature yellow poncho home with you once the experience is over – a wet little something to remember Niagara by!
Horseshoe Falls – a little bit of backstory
Ever wonder why the waterfall bears such a strange name? Straddling the border between Canada and the United States, this part of Niagara Falls has a most unusual name. The sort that makes us giggle when we say it, sometimes. But the reason behind it is, in fact, surprisingly simple.
The reason Niagara Falls is sometimes also referred to as Horseshoe Falls is the curving, 900-metre (3,000 foot) crest that the water forms in its fall.
Call it whatever you like, Niagara Falls is a once in a lifetime experience that should not be missed!
Aquarium of Niagara – Delving Into the Knowledge2021-04-06T17:03:48-04:00 Live with Adventure
Water and sea life have always gone hand in hand, even when the two aren’t necessarily directly linked. For example, when we go visit a great big waterfall, like Niagara Falls, we expect to see some water creatures, as well. Even though the possibility of actually going close enough to see water animals inside is… small. Still, the desire to see them remains, and that is how most of us end up at the Aquarium of Niagara.
